Ruts, in particular, need careful consideration. If not properly filled and compacted, base material will inevitably accumulate in the ruts, creating areas that fail to meet uniform density requirements. To prevent this, we ensure low areas are appropriately filled and compacted using high-quality subgrade material.

Handling High Areas:

Rocky areas located above the desired grade demand specific handling. It is not acceptable to scalp these areas and reuse the resulting rocky material to fill low spots elsewhere. This practice leads to poorly graded material that can jeopardize the pavement's integrity. Instead, we employ a more effective approach. We scarify these rocky areas to a suitable depth, making room for the required compacted thickness of approved base course material. This ensures a solid foundation for the pavement.

Ensuring Uniform Density:

Moisture content plays a significant role in material consolidation, and we closely monitor and adjust it as necessary.
